In high school I worked in coffee shops, and one summer I even started a small consulting and tech business helping people with their computers, including transferring photos from digital cameras and printing them. I would create step by step instructions and manuals for them, which is funny because it is essentially what I still do today.

Growing up in the Rocky Mountains meant my backyard was basically an REI catalog brought to life. Aspen is a small international ski resort tucked at the end of the Roaring Fork Valley and was my childhood playground. Summers meant biking and hiking across terrain that felt bigger than life, and winters meant skiing and snowboarding down slopes at light speed. Every spring, we escaped to Florida to visit my grandparents in Delray Beach, a place that later in life would became my second home long before I decided to officially move to Miami.
At age ten, my summers turned into full outdoor bootcamp at Outdoor Wilderness Adventure in Buena Vista. OWA introduced us to every outdoor activity imaginable, basically testing whether any of us were cut out to be wilderness experts or should stick to indoor hobbies. It was there that my love for fly fishing began. We studied streams, learned which bugs trout preferred like we were planning Michelin level meals, and spent hours hand crafting flies using feathers and plants found around there. By the time I backpacked through Yellowstone my third summer, dodged grizzlies, and lived off trout for a week, I was convinced I could survive a National Geographic documentary. Or at least pretend I could.
Creativity was always part of me. In elementary school, every project somehow became an art project because I insisted on it. As I got older, I discovered that I also loved math and critical thinking, which placed me somewhere between an artist and a future coder. In high school I earned an International Baccalaureate diploma, then headed to the University of Colorado Boulder to study International Business Marketing. After moving to Florida, I returned to school for an accredited certificate in website design and development at Miami International University.
In 2019, I moved to New York City and joined the Masters in Branding program at the School of Visual Arts. I graduated with honors, completing my thesis remotely during the pandemic, which meant presenting branding concepts to professors while praying my WiFi behaved.
My first job was in Aspen at a small outfitting shop where I guided fly fishing trips out of the St. Regis hotel. I sold everything from fly rods to Spanish shotguns, which usually surprises people who now know me as the fashion and branding guy.
My interest in fashion took off during a trip to Miami when I discovered that people outside mountain towns actually dressed up for fun. After college, I worked at Nordstrom and a local boutique called Weekends, getting a crash course in both corporate structure and small business charm. After a brief stint in Los Angeles doing celebrity bookkeeping (yes, it was exactly as odd as it sounds), I moved back to Aspen to work at Boogie’s before moving into luxury retail at Gucci, where I learned the heritage behind iconic fashion houses.
In 2010, I moved to Miami Beach and worked for boutiques like Post Blue Jeans, Scotch and Soda, and Osklen. In 2014, on my third attempt, I was hired at The Webster and shortly after promoted to build their Website as the e-Commerce developer. They didn’t yet have an online store, so I built their first one, syncing inventory across locations and launching their custom Magento site. I consider this experience my unofficial masterclass in E-Commerce, UX/UI, and digital strategy.
After launching the platform and taking on more website projects independently, I realized it was time to grow beyond one brand. I left The Webster on great terms and later returned to build a private label Shopify store for the owner. In 2017, I partnered with Sze Liu to co-found WMD Agency, combining our strengths to offer full service websites and marketing. We worked with brands like Taja Collection, De La Heart, Cooper Street, and Oura Ring, and traveled across the US and Canada speaking at major digital marketing, branding, and e-Commerce events. Basically, we've built brands and our business with big results from our homes in Miami Beach.
In 2022, I joined the Istituto Marangoni Miami as an adjunct professor, teaching branding, design, websites, and marketing. Somewhere between fly fishing instructor, luxury retail, E-Commerce developer, founder, and professor, my career has found its rhythm.
My life began in the mountains of Aspen, Colorado, a place that shaped my sense of adventure, creativity, and deep respect for the natural world. My passion for the outdoors was nurtured through years of camping, biking, fly fishing, skiing and snowboarding, which are experiences that still influence how I think, work, and live. South Florida has been another defining place in my life, rooted in childhood memories of visiting my grandparents and now serving as my home and creative hub.
I have always been inspired by the blend of nature, fashion, and technology, three elements that continue to guide my personal and professional identity. From guiding fishing trips to selling luxury fashion to shaping digital brands, my love for exploring remote landscapes and teaching at a fashion university, has been shaped by curiosity, exploration, and a drive to bring ideas to life.
